Bordeaux Cherry Dark Balsamic Pork Chops with Garlic & Basil

Bordeaux Cherry Dark Balsamic Pork Chops with Garlic & Basil

Description:

This pork chop is simple, savory, and easy to cook. Cherry Dark Balsamic adds a mild sweet-tart finish that pairs naturally with pork, while Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil brings depth and richness. A small drizzle of Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil at the end adds warmth without overpowering the dish. It’s a straightforward meal that works for everyday dinners at home.

Ingredients:

1 bone-in pork chop (about 1 to 1¼ inches thick)
1½ tablespoons Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil
½ tablespoon Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
½ teaspoon dried thyme
1 clove garlic, lightly smashed
3 tablespoons 25-Star Cherry Dark Balsamic Vinegar
Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

• Remove the pork chop from the refrigerator about 20 minutes before cooking.
• Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, and dried thyme.
• Heat the Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
• Add the pork chop and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, until well browned and nearly cooked through.
• Add the smashed garlic to the pan and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
• Reduce the heat to medium-low and drizzle the Cherry Dark Balsamic into the pan.
• Cook for another 2–3 minutes, turning once, until the balsamic warms and thickens slightly and the pork reaches 145°F.
• Remove from heat, drizzle lightly with Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Chef’s Tips:

• Use Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil as a finishing drizzle, not for cooking, so the heat stays balanced.
• Let the pork rest before serving to keep it juicy.

Flavor Variations:

• Swap Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil for Artichoke & Garlic Olive Oil for a lighter, greener flavor.
• Use boneless pork chops and reduce cooking time by 1–2 minutes per side.
• Finish with an extra spoon of Cherry Dark Balsamic if you like a stronger cherry note.

Pairings:

Baked potato, roasted carrots, green beans, wild rice, or a simple mixed green salad.

Recipe Notes:

This recipe was designed to show how savory olive oils balance the natural sweetness of Cherry Dark Balsamic. Keep the steps simple, add the balsamic near the end, and adjust to taste.
