Chocolate Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops
Description
Tender pan-seared pork chops finished in a rich chocolate balsamic glaze layered with garlic, Dijon mustard, and balanced sweet-savory depth for a bold but elegant skillet dinner.
Recipe Overview
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
1 tablespoon Garlic Infused Olive Oil
¼ cup Chocolate Dark Balsamic
2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Fresh thyme, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
• Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
• Heat Garlic Infused Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
• Add pork chops and sear 3–4 minutes per side until deeply golden brown. Remove and set aside.
• Reduce heat to medium and add Chocolate Dark Balsamic, honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic to the skillet.
• Stir continuously while simmering 3–4 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
• Return pork chops to the skillet and spoon glaze over the top.
• Continue cooking 5–7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
• Rest briefly before serving and drizzle remaining glaze over the pork chops.
• Finish with fresh thyme if desired.
Chef’s Tip
Allow the glaze to reduce slowly rather than boiling aggressively. Keeping a little brightness in the balsamic creates better balance against the richness of the pork and honey.
Flavor Variations
• Chocolate Dark Balsamic creates a rich roasted sweet-savory glaze with subtle cocoa depth
• Classic Dark Balsamic creates a more traditional balsamic glaze profile
• Blackberry Dark Balsamic adds deeper berry richness that pairs beautifully with pork
• Add rosemary or thyme to deepen the herb profile
• Finish with an extra drizzle of balsamic after plating for brighter layered flavor
Pairings
Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, wild rice, roasted carrots, or a crisp green salad.
Recipe Notes
This glaze works best when reduced just enough to coat the pork without becoming syrup-thick. The balance between sweet, savory, and acidity is what makes the chocolate balsamic stand out.
