Description

Cucumber Melon White Balsamic, fresh lemon, and sparkling water come together in a crisp, refreshing cooler with delicate melon sweetness and a clean cucumber finish. Enjoy it as an easy sparkling mocktail or add gin or vodka for a light cocktail.

Recipe Overview

Serves: 1 drink
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Cucumber Melon White Balsamic
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
4 ounces chilled sparkling water or club soda
3–4 thin slices English cucumber, optional
Ice
Cucumber ribbon and lemon wheel, for garnish
Fresh mint, for garnish, optional

Mocktail Version

• If using fresh cucumber, place 2–3 thin English cucumber slices in the bottom of a tall glass and press them lightly with the back of a spoon just until they release some aroma and juice.

• Fill the glass with ice. Add the Cucumber Melon White Balsamic and fresh lemon juice, then stir briefly to combine and chill.

• Slowly top with 4 ounces chilled sparkling water or club soda.

• Give the drink one gentle stir to combine while preserving the carbonation.

• Garnish with a cucumber ribbon, lemon wheel, and fresh mint, if desired. Serve immediately.

Cocktail Version

• If using fresh cucumber, place 2–3 thin English cucumber slices in the bottom of a tall glass and press them lightly with the back of a spoon.

• Fill the glass with ice. Add 2 tablespoons Cucumber Melon White Balsamic, ½ ounce fresh lemon juice, and 1½ ounces gin or vodka. Stir briefly until chilled.

• Top with 3 ounces chilled sparkling water or club soda and stir gently once to combine.

• Garnish with a cucumber ribbon, lemon wheel, and fresh mint, if desired. Serve immediately.

Chef’s Tip

Keep the Cucumber Melon White Balsamic and sparkling water thoroughly chilled before assembling the cooler. Add the sparkling component last and stir only enough to combine so the drink stays lively and well carbonated. If using fresh cucumber, press it lightly rather than aggressively muddling it—you want fresh cucumber aroma and flavor without filling the drink with pulp.

Flavor Variations

• Pear: Replace the Cucumber Melon White Balsamic with Pear White Balsamic for a delicate, softly sweet orchard-fruit cooler.

• Lemon: Replace the Cucumber Melon White Balsamic with Lemon White Balsamic for a brighter citrus-forward cooler. Reduce the fresh lemon juice to ¼ ounce or omit it, then adjust to taste.

• Cucumber Mint: Lightly press 2 cucumber slices and 3–4 mint leaves in the glass before adding the remaining ingredients for a fresh herbal variation.

• Fresh Melon: Add 2–3 small cubes of ripe honeydew or cantaloupe and press them gently before adding the ice for additional fresh melon character.

• Garden Herb: Add a few lightly bruised basil or mint leaves for an aromatic garden-style variation.

Recipe Notes

Cucumber Melon White Balsamic already provides both fruit flavor and sweetness, so the cooler does not need simple syrup or another added sweetener. Taste the finished drink after adding the sparkling water before making any adjustments.

For additional citrus, add fresh lemon juice a small splash at a time. The goal is to keep the cucumber and melon character fresh and delicate rather than allowing the lemon to dominate.

Assemble immediately before serving and add the sparkling water or club soda last so the cooler stays cold and well carbonated.
