Raspberry Dark Balsamic Braised Beef Tips with Mushrooms
Description:
These beef tips are rich, savory, and comforting, with a subtle brightness from Raspberry Dark Balsamic that lifts the dish without tasting sweet. Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil adds earthy depth that pairs naturally with beef and mushrooms, while Tuscan Herb and Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oils offer simple ways to adjust the flavor without complicating the recipe. It’s a hearty, straightforward meal designed for everyday home cooking.
Ingredients:
2 pounds beef stew meat or sirloin tips
3 tablespoons Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil, divided
1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
½ cup 25-Star Raspberry Dark Balsamic Vinegar
1 cup beef broth
Optional finish: small drizzle of Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil
Instructions:
• Season the beef tips generously with salt and pepper.
• Heat 2 tablespoons Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
• Add the beef and brown on all sides, working in batches if needed.
• Add the onion, garlic, and mushrooms and cook for 4–6 minutes, until softened and lightly browned.
• Reduce heat to medium and pour in the Raspberry Dark Balsamic and beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
• Cover and braise at 325°F for 1½–2 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
• Uncover and simmer for 5–10 minutes to slightly thicken the sauce.
• Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil.
• Finish with a light drizzle of Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil, if desired, and let rest briefly before serving.
Chef’s Tips:
• Use Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil for cooking to keep the dish savory and grounded.
• Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil should be used only as a finishing drizzle so the heat stays balanced and controlled.
Flavor Variations:
• Swap Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil for Tuscan Herb Olive Oil for a more herb-forward, structured flavor.
• Finish with Garlic & Roasted Chili Olive Oil for gentle warmth and contrast.
• Adjust the final drizzle of Raspberry Dark Balsamic to taste if you prefer a brighter finish.
Pairings:
Garlic mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, creamy polenta, roasted carrots, or green beans.
Recipe Notes:
This recipe was designed to highlight how Raspberry Dark Balsamic adds brightness to rich, slow-cooked dishes without introducing sweetness. Keeping the olive oil choices intentional allows you to adjust depth, structure, or heat while staying focused on one balsamic flavor.
