Rigatoni with Beef, Mushrooms, Garlic Mushroom Olive Oil & Classic Dark Balsamic

Description

This rich, steakhouse-style rigatoni is built around deep umami flavor — savory beef, caramelized mushrooms, and a balsamic-forward sauce that clings to every bite of pasta.

Recipe Overview

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 pound rigatoni
1 pound ground beef (80/20)
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
3 tablespoons Garlic Mushroom Fused Olive Oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¾ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
¾ cup marinara sauce
¼ cup Classic Dark Balsamic Vinegar
½ cup reserved pasta water
Fresh parmesan and herbs for finishing

Instructions

• Cook rigatoni in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.

• Heat 1½ tablespoons Garlic Mushroom Fused Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

• Add mushrooms and sauté until deeply browned and caramelized. Remove and set aside.

• Add remaining olive oil to the skillet along with ground beef and onion. Cook until browned.

• Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.

• Add marinara sauce and Classic Dark Balsamic. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.

• Return mushrooms to the skillet and add cooked pasta.

• Toss well, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce and help it coat the rigatoni evenly.

• Finish with fresh parmesan and herbs before serving.

Chef’s Tip

Let the balsamic simmer just long enough to deepen the flavor without becoming overly sweet. The goal is a savory, steakhouse-style richness with balanced acidity.

Flavor Variations

• Classic Dark Balsamic — rich traditional base
• Espresso Bean Dark Balsamic — deeper roasted profile with steakhouse depth
• Bordeaux Cherry Dark Balsamic — subtle fruit complexity and brightness

Pairings

Serve with garlic bread, roasted broccolini, Caesar salad, or a simple arugula salad.

Recipe Notes

Garlic Mushroom Fused Olive Oil and Classic Dark Balsamic create a deep, savory flavor profile that defines this dish. Keep the sauce slightly loose so it clings naturally to the pasta instead of becoming heavy.
