Slow Cooker Shredded Balsamic Beef
Description

Recipe Overview
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes
Serves: 6–8
Ingredients
3-pound beef chuck roast
½ cup beef broth
½ cup 25 Star Dark Balsamic Vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, smashed
1 tablespoon Garlic Infused Olive Oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Rolls, mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for serving
Instructions
• Heat Garlic Infused Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
• Season chuck roast generously with salt and black pepper.
• Sear roast 2–3 minutes per side until deeply browned. This step adds richer flavor to the finished shredded beef.
• Transfer roast to a slow cooker.
• Add beef broth, 25 Star Dark Balsamic, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and smashed garlic cloves around the roast.
• Spoon some of the liquid over the top of the beef.
• Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours until the roast becomes fork-tender and easily shreds apart.
• Shred the beef directly in the slow cooker using two forks and mix thoroughly into the balsamic juices.
• Let the shredded beef sit in the sauce 10–15 minutes before serving so the flavor fully absorbs.
• Finish with chopped parsley before serving.
Chef’s Tip
Searing the roast before slow cooking creates a much deeper finished flavor and gives the balsamic sauce richer savory complexity.
Flavor Variations
• 25 Star Dark Balsamic creates a rich savory-sweet shredded beef base with balanced acidity
• Fig Dark Balsamic creates deeper earthy sweetness and pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes
• Blackberry Dark Balsamic adds bold berry richness for sandwiches and rice bowls
• Add sliced onions or mushrooms to the slow cooker for additional depth
• Finish sandwiches with provolone or white cheddar for a richer comfort-food variation
Pairings
Serve on toasted rolls, over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, rice bowls, roasted vegetables, or creamy polenta.
Recipe Notes
This shredded balsamic beef becomes even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop. Store leftovers in the cooking liquid to help keep the beef tender and juicy.
