Sweet & Tangy Honey Balsamic Pork Chops

These succulent, tender pork chops are pan-seared and drenched in a rich honey balsamic sauce that perfectly balances sweetness and acidity. It's a simple yet elegant dish that's sure to impress.

For the Pork Chops:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 lb. pork chops (4 pieces)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Italian seasoning, to taste

For the Honey Balsamic Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 scallions, finely chopped

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pork Chops:
Season your pork chops generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the pork chops and sear them for about 3 minutes on each side. Aim for a total of 6 minutes to ensure they’re golden brown but not overcooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  2. Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the second tablespoon of butter. Add the scallions, garlic, rosemary, and thyme, sautéing for 2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the balsamic vinegar and honey, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to meld the flavors, then stir in the Dijon mustard to thicken the sauce. Taste and adjust with salt as needed.

  3. Reheat the Pork Chops:
Return the pork chops to the pan, spooning the sauce over the top. Let them heat through in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring they reach an internal temperature of 145°F.

Serving Ideas:
Serve your pork chops alongside roasted vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, or a fresh mixed green salad. Garnish with freshly chopped scallions for a burst of freshness.
